The National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. celebrated its 23rd Annual Hall of Fame Conference in Atlanta, Georgia at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, September 25-28, 2008. This year's theme was "HBCUs: Bringing Dreams To Reality." The conference provided attendees with the opportunity to network with educational, civic and community leaders.  Workshops moderated by national speakers addressed topics and critical issues that affect our youth.  This year’s presenters included: Dr. Joshua Murfree, Author; Melanie Campbell and William Kellibrew, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation; Christal Cherry, UNCF; Cyrus Hancock, Hancock Financial Services; Judge Marvin Arrington; April Woodard, Inside Edition; Xernona Clayton, The Trumpet Awards; Sheila Bronner, Upscale Magazine; Susan Taylor, National CARES Mentoring Movement; Emmanuel Lewis, Future Begins Now, Inc.; and Judge Glenda Hatchett to name a few.  The accomplishments of eleven (11) distinguished alumni were celebrated at the Signature Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, while the talents of our future leaders were exhibited during the Competition of Black College Queens, Competition of Black College Gospel Choirs and Black College Invitational Golf Tournament.  The Alumni Round-up Party was a stunning success and featured Saxophonist Mike Phillips with R&B recording artist Will Downing and Instrumentalist Bobby Lyle.
